Recently we announced that CSTC Safety Management System was released to allow CSTC customers’ administrative users to log into a portal and manage their employees. What we did not mention was the fact that CSTC Safety Management System also allows you to view your Upcoming trainings, Recent trainings and some of your past trainings as well. This post gives you a little more information of how this works.

CSTC is more than a training company, we are a service company. Delivering the best service to our customers ( you ) means a lot to us. To achieve this, we are working hard with new technologies to give you more information, more accurate information, and more timely information.
CSTC Safety Management System is the next step in giving you better service, by giving you a tool to access this information directly.

In this video, Ben IV Laverty discusses the electronic reporting of OSHA 300 Logs for California, that is a requirement starting July 1st 2018.

After several years of back and forth it appears the federal government is requiring employers in the state of California to submit Osha 300 forms to the federal government by July 1^st of this year!

This is not retroactive to the year 2016 but 2017 will need to be submitted this year.

Many employers with over 20 employees must submit.  Farms, construction and manufacturing are required to report if they have employed over 19 employees in the past year.

Even though we work with customers all across America, CSTC is happy to call sunny Southern California it’s home. Living in Southern California does bring some risks for us and our clients, with one of the main ones being High Heat. 

Although currently in May, the weather is being kind to us with several days in the 70s and 80s, we have already seen some very hot days, with temperatures in the 90s. June July and August are coming fast, we know that we will be lucky to have double digit days, with 100+ days being the norm, that means Heat Illness Prevention will kick into high gear.

They are now recognized as Tractor Mounted Personnel Transport Carriers or PTCs (as referred to by Cal/OSHA) but have gone by many names. Whether you call it a tractor basket, personnel transport platform or any variation of these, you have probably seen one in use as they have long been assisting workers on the farm as a transportation device.
Typically used for transporting workers in field irrigation operations, these devices had safely and successfully been employed for many years without issue as there was no specific regulations governing their use. Beginning in 2010 there were varying opinions on the part of Cal/OSHA regarding the legal use of these devices. That is until 2012 when they were in violation of Title 8 of the California Code of Regulations (CCR) section 3441(a)(2)(B), which prohibits "riders on agricultural equipment other than persons required for instruction or assistance in machine operation."

Do you need a Qualitative or Quantitative Fit Check? A fit check by a qualified person must be performed annually and the employee must be medically cleared before the fit check is performed regardless of the type of fit check being performed.  Read more to find out more.
